Real Story: Jay Acevedo
Jay Acevedo
Â鶹ֱ²¥ Class of Winter 2022
I have been affiliated with Â鶹ֱ²¥ for 15 years, first as a summer camp student, then a summer camp employee, and now a college student (and graduate!). I would consider myself to be someone who has contributed a lot to society and who has tried to live life to the fullest, since I believe that we only live once.
My experiences with Â鶹ֱ²¥ started long before my first semester as a college student in 2019. In 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2013, I was a student camper at the Kids’ & Teen College summer camp. I had a great time, so much so that in 2017 I came back to train as a camp counselor. I worked as a Kids’ & Teen College counselor each summer from 2018 to 2021, and I have loved working with the students and the fellow staff.
I’ve just finished my degree and will graduate in January 2022. I want to become a journalist, in broadcasting preferably. I also love game shows and trivia, so hopefully I can work in that genre if I end up in television. My biggest dream is to be a game show host.
I have loved being affiliated with the Â鶹ֱ²¥ over the past 15 years in different ways. The staff has always been great towards me, especially helping me adjust during my first semester as a college student, and the services offered at the college are just incredible. I will never forget how great the people at Â鶹ֱ²¥ are, and the college has left a great impact on me that will always be remembered.
