Additional Policies
Credit students: Your residency status determines whether you pay in-county, in-state, or out-of-state tuition. When you first apply to Â鶹ֱ²¥, the Admissions Office determines your status based on the information you submit on your application. Your initial residency classification can only be changed if you file a Residency Change Form no later than 30 days after the college's determination.
If your residency classification changes while attending Â鶹ֱ²¥, the change form and all required documents must be filed prior to the first day of classes for the term you wish to attend.
The change in classification isn't retroactive -- it goes into effect beginning in the term for which you filed. You can only file an application once each term.
The burden of proving you qualify as an in-county or in-state resident rests on you. If you do not provide complete and timely information, your request may be denied.
Read the complete residency policy in the appendices of .
To update your address, telephone or email on file, please complete an Update Contact information Form and bring the form into any of our four campus locations OR mail the completed form to Â鶹ֱ²¥, ATTN: Call Center, P.O. Box 910, La Plata, MD 20646-0910.
Continuing Education students: To be eligible for in-county or in-state rates, please sign a statement on the Continuing Education Registration form certifying that you've lived at your current address for at least three consecutive months. Adjustments of tuition will not be made once the class starts, even if you move.
If you have questions or wish to review your residency status, contact the Admissions Office at 301-934-2251.
