Steps to Enroll
You’ll need to create an account on our application portal. Fill in the fields with your information.
In the drop-down menu under “Choose the statement that best describes you,” select the option for “I am a Dual Enrollment student, still in high school.” Follow the prompts and submit your completed application for admission.
You’ll also need to complete the online Gifted and Talented form. This should be completed by the student and their parent/guardian.
A strong start in your first semester builds momentum and confidence, and that means being placed in courses that fit your knowledge and abilities.
As part of your enrollment process, you’ll need to provide a written recommendation from someone who is qualified to vouch for your gifted and talented status and that you’re ready for college-level coursework, such as a teacher or guidance counselor. (This recommendation cannot be completed by a relative or family member.)
After you submit the Gifted and Talented form, you’ll be emailed a PDF of your form with a space for a recommendation. Once you’ve obtained the recommendation, email the completed document to aod@csmd.edu.
Once we’ve reviewed your documents, including the recommendation, Â鶹ֱ²¥ will contact you to arrange placement testing. Students applying to the Gifted and Talented program are required to place at the college level on the reading and writing portions of the Â鶹ֱ²¥ Placement Test to be eligible.
Math placement testing is not a requirement to be admitted, but it is necessary to take any courses that have a math requisite. This applies to many courses in subjects like math, science, chemistry, computer science, physics, accounting, and so on. Students are allowed one retest attempt per test per academic year.
