In Partnership With:

  • A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland College Park
  • Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division
  • University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM)

The Â鶹ֱ²¥ (Â鶹ֱ²¥) is proud to offer, in partnership with the University of Maryland (UMD), a seamless pathway to a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. Upon completing the engineering curriculum at Â鶹ֱ²¥, students may then transfer with junior status to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at UMD.  Students also have opportunities for paid internships, tuition assistance, and employment upon successful graduation and completion of all Pathway Program requirements with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

How It Works

Students begin by earning an associate degree at Â鶹ֱ²¥:

Students then transition to the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM) to complete their junior and senior classes with UMD—all without leaving Southern Maryland.

Current Â鶹ֱ²¥ Students:

Current Â鶹ֱ²¥ students interested in this program should apply for the Engineering Transfer Recruitment Opportunity (ENTRY) Program and the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP).

  • Details about ENTRY
  • Register for ENTRY:
  • MTAP:
  • SMART Building: NAWCAD and UMD have established a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory, the SMART building, dedicated to support junior- and senior-level engineering courses at USMSM.

Not Currently Enrolled at Â鶹ֱ²¥?

Students not currently enrolled at Â鶹ֱ²¥ (high school students included) may still initiate interest by emailing questions to engineering@csmd.edu and/or register through the ENTRY link above.
